Yup, my good fren Law got married last Saturday and I was there to witness everything from morning gatecrash to end of the function at nite~

Today is Friday the 13th, but I'm glad I passed it without much issues.
Big boss from US visited and we din have much time to catch up today, but there'll be group meetings and 1-1 meetings on coming Monday... Will there be any changes to my title and scope etc? Honestly, I'm pretty satisfied and do not wish for any changes... But I know very well changes are inevitable! So let's see how it goes next Monday...

My poly good fren, Law is getting married tomorrow and I'm so happy for him and his wife Wendii... Will be helping out along the way tmr! :)

Aragh.. Can't believe my sis really caught the chickenpox virus!
She's been having red rashes on her limbs the past 2 weeks and seen the doc numerous times and the doc says it's sensitive skin.
Can sense that she wasn't that right cause keep complaining of aches here n there..

Finally, her visit to the doc this evening after work confirmed it, she's gotten the virus.
I've never had the pox before and though I had the vaccine last year but I think it's not 100% immune, so really praying that I won't catch it from her.. Else, it'd b dreadful...

Just took some antibiotics from my regular doc last nite and is still trying to recover from my super bad flu and now this has to come along...

Really bo bian leh.. :( Pray, pray, pray!

Back from Batam!

Attended a wedding dinner with my dad in JB on 7 May nite... Was already not feeling well but still went ahead as my dad does not know the way there! Great catchup with my granny, aunts and cousins there!

I went to Batam over the weekend with Apple & TM and it was a nice trip! I love especially the massages and the fish spa we have in the Thai room of Tempat Senang. Batam is a boring place, however, nothing much to shop and nowhere nice to go to...

I'd however go back for their massages and spa again! Really super nice lor~ Actually I was already sick since Thursday, starting with a mild sore throat... and it turned into fever, flu, cough etc.. And I seen a doc prior to the Batam trip but the medication did not seem to help. how I wish i was well when i was in batam so i could enjoy the trip more...

After that, I metup with Ms Corina Tay to help her move some stuffs and she brought over her cute nephew Ryan over to my place to visit my chou chou and had dinner here!

I'm so tired now but it's a nice n fruitful day!

A May filled with holidays!

I think many people are looking forward to May since it has so many holidays, with the addition of the replacement holiday for the GE... Somehow, I'm neither feeling excited nor happy about all these holidays... Rather, sense of fear and nervous is present, since after my boss leaves this Friday, I dunno what will happen... Hahaha... Let's see how it will be like and who exactly I'd be reporting to in future!

On a side note, basically all the weekends in May are pretty packed for me... With lots of activites going on, so hoping that I'll get through these.. :)

Today, we're heading to temples!

This is the best breakfast we ever had, in the Taidung hotel.. Lots of varieties and the food are all super nice.. Not enough time for me to take all the pics as i was bz attacking them!

We spent the night at Yilan after the night market visit at Luodong last nite.. The hotels so far have been good and nice! Today, we're heading to Hualian via the train and then a 4.5 hrs drive to Taidung, the hotel with hot spring in each bathroom!

Yup, it's day 2 and it was a pretty long drive up to Jiufen, since it's on top of mountainous area. But it's a really nice and cool place and I simply love the way things are organized and sold there! Bought some souvenirs from here and of coz not forgetting to take photos!

Yes yes... Finally I'm back posting something for the TW trip...

18 April SIN - TAIPEI
Arrived at Taipei in the afternoon at about 3 plus and checked out before we met the tour guide at the lobby. As the airport was under construction, it was pretty chaotic and not easy to find our way to the coach before boarding it, but yeah... we arrived safely travelling on China Airlines... LOL

First stop - Shilin Night Market & Ximending

Gosh, I'm excited... Will be off to Taiwan with my parents, granny, aunt and 2 neighbors tomorrow morning. Had booked for a mini bus to send us all to the airport since it's more economical that way...

Yeah, I took 1/2 day off from work today to go JB with my parents n sis and just got back home at 9 plus!
My 6th aunt was in a really critical condition yesterday and in ICU... Glad she's now regained consciousness and recovering pretty well...
Indeed, one must really take good care of health properly... Who knows eating something wrong can cause a disaster to a kidney patient... Scared the hell out of everyone... Phew...
Oh well, at least she's now much better and able to eat some food... Must gambatte for the 2 young kids!

On a side note, it's now official.. My boss has tendered and 6 May will be his last day... What will my future be like, being in this job for only 6 months? Hopefully I can survive under whatever new boss whom I'll be reporting to. :(

For the first time in my life, I've finally visited the reservoir! I've been ranting that I wanna go visit as I've heard how beautiful and nice the place is...

Finally yesterday, I went with my beloved best fren Apple for a walk there... It's not as simple as we though it to be... We underestimated it.. LOL... Really a nice place with nice scenery and we took about 3 hours walking for more than 1o clicks... What's amazing is that it actually links to the Bt Timah Nature Reserve which is near my home.. Was telling Apple, next time we must try that route.. Hee...

Just came back not long ago from our annual tomb sweeping at Grandpa/Grandma's urns in Aljunied. This is an annual affair which we will go and I think it's pretty meaningful this year.

As we seldom keep in touch with the relatives on my dad side.. not even my 2 aunts who are my dad's sisters, naturally it feels a bit weird to talk to my cousins.. But am glad, for the power of facebook, we've been kept updated on each other's lives and what's going on, hence creating topics for us to chat on and we had a great morning at big aunt's stall at Aljunied after tomb sweeping..

My niece is so kawaii but too bad she did not go with us today... :D Baby Charlotte! Kawaii~~~

Serves that stupid flasher right!!! My dad caught him today...

Not sure if anyone remembers, but I bumped into a flasher about 2-3 years ago while waiting for my company transport somewhere near my house along a MAIN ROAD. Yes, a main road... I made a police report back then and din see that stupid guy who seem to be of low IQ for these few years, till a few weeks back...

I couldn't recognize him at first though I found him familiar so I let it by... He also din do anything the past few weeks while I was waiting for the company transport as there was an auntie waiting for her grandkids every morning same time in the same area with me - note: near a primary school in my area.. It wasn't until on Tues morning when the auntie din come and that stupid guy keeps standing about 3m away from me and kept staring at me.. Then he suddenly flashed.. The SAME way the flasher did few years back and that's when I recognized him as the same guy.

Honestly, was pretty freaked when that happened and I din run away, still stayed pretty calm but I was really really scared.. Thinking if he might attacked me or do some other funny thing.. Many thoughts came to my mind, shouting, take a pic of him etc etc, but I froze and couldn't really do anything... He ran away after 1 or 2 mins but I was still shocked and stunned....

For the next 2 days on Wed n Thurs after the incident, I walked till the plaza area to wait for a bus but I know that's too tiring for me.. So my mum got my dad to go down with me to the waiting point today morning and we're so lucky he appeared on the first day my dad was waiting for him... My dad did chase n caught him, but let him go after a stern warning as there were some aunties nearby who know that low IQ guy's mum... Sigh.. a bit regrettable that he was not sent to the post as that area is very near a primary school and I wonder how many girls/women he's FLASHED to! Damn! Aragh...

Time really flies and March is gone~
I've been happy the past 2 weeks for no obvious reasons and I guess that's really good... Hee...

I've been planning on a Taiwan trip and will be going with my Granny, parents, aunt and 2 neighbors on week of 18 April... A bit shang nao jin as till now still can't find suitable caregiver for my dear rabbit, Xiaobai! :(

A weekend date with Ms Tay!

Ms Corina Tay is my best fren from sec skool and we met up over the last 2 days catching up and cooking... haha...

Well, she rented a flat nearby our place for a tuition centre and I dropped by.. Seeing how dusty the flat was and how dirty the floor was, I suggested to her to get it cleaned up. We were out on Sat afternoon buying stuffs to cook noodles for lunch and ended up buying too much so we were too lazy to move around.. Haha...

So we met up on Sunday again after her tuition and started cleaning the place up. She took care of the kitchen while I swept and mopped the floor as well as clean the toilet in the master bedroom. We took about 2 hours for everything and I was feeling dead after that.. But we still conserved some energy and took the bus to the plaza to buy stuffs so we can cook sushi. It was our first attempt cooking the sushi rice and it's not bad.. Quite easy, following the instructions on the rice package.

We then wrapped up the rice rolls and had a great time eating and laughing together.. haha... Did not expect myself to be doing housework over the weekend at that place instead of my own home.. haha.. But it was worthwhile and fruitful, seeing how clean the place is now... haha...

What's the world coming to?

We've all known of the triple disaster that's happening in Japan right now after the mega earthquake last Friday. I've been following the news pretty closely and my heart went out to them.. In fact, we do have a office in Japan but luckily, we heard that all employees and their families were safe in Tokyo.

In fact, my boss will be traveling there later this week for the office move with some other colleagues but I think the trip will most probably be canceled. One of my colleagues in the IT dept was saying... He's an Indian citizen and there's no India embassy in Japan, so if anything happens, there's no place for him to seek help from.. Sigh...

Oh well... Am glad at least my sec skool best fren is back from her Hong Kong trip safely!

Dead tired after a trip to the zoo

I'm feeling so so tired and lethargic after a day at the zoo yesterday with my cousins and 6th aunts... The 2 kids are really good and excited though this is not the first time I've brought them there.

Last year, I brought them once and I did again yesterday as I had a corporate pass and was able to bring them for FOC... Ok, here are some pics to share~

Wow, can't believe how time flies... Yesterday seemed to be just Jan 2011 and now it's already March! Can't deny that I'm getting old... Soon to be 30, LOL...

The past month has been pretty busy and hectic but I think it was a very fruitful month work and personal wise... Let's hope I can keep things up for the rest of the year!

Had a great afternoon though it was pretty rushed...

This is also the first time we had a All Hands presentation in office for the Corporate Services department and turned things a bit haywire since no one had any experience in APAC! Spent the past week helping my boss to update the slides for the presentation and it was pretty challenging but I did learn a lot along the way as well... It'll be better next quarter! :)

Went to collect my driving license today from the post office already... hahaha... Still cannot believe I got the license, just like that. :D

After that, I headed to Chinatown to look for tour packages to Taiwan. Planning to go with Granny, parents and other relatives in mid-April... Hee... But too bad, no tour now for Apr, so gotta wait till next week's pre-NATAs fair at Suntec. Headed for a full body massage though.. Been almost a year since I last week.. Shiok... Believe I'll have a really good sleep tonite.. hee hee...

Aiyo, cannot believe it....
Had dinner with my best male buddy Yiming yesterday at Lot 1 Pizza Hut.
We were mistaken as a couple and the pizza hut staff sang us a love song and gave us a heart shape balloon... No where to hide my face. I din dare to take the balloon out of pizza hut, but I took a pic of it since it's cute... haha...

It was a great catchup though. After dinner we had wanted to go K Box to sing songs, but it's super ex.. 3.5 hours, almost $40... Faint... so we headed to dessert story for some desserts and more chatting... Haha.... Thanks man for the treat! :D

Yes, it's Chinese New Year! Phew, really can't believe I'm turning 29 this year.. Time really seems to fly after I've turned 21, esp the last few years I was working in Broadcom.

This is the Rabbit year... and dunno why, I especially love the Rabbit year... Haha... As usual, we went to Granny's house in JB and had a great time catching up with my relatives... And this is the first time in 20 over years that I took with Granny... She's not photogenic and refused to take pics, but I managed to take a few with her this year...

I also had a great time with my cousins and god-daughter, Tian En whom I love so dearly. She's the daughter of my cousin and is currently 4 months old...

Bee Hoon fried by Granny, the best bee hoon in the world! I'm a big fan of been hoon and Ah Ma's version is still my most preferred version.. Simple but super tasty.. I tried mastering the recipe, but can never reach 1/10 of Granny's version...

Visit to Sungei Buloh today

I just came back at noon, after visiting Sungei Buloh with Apple & TM.
Had thought that it'd be interesting, but it wasn't really that interesting to us... Boring and lots of mosquitoes!

TM & Apple picked me at about 7.30am this morning and we went to Tian Zhong to have breakfast there. After bf, we headed to Sungei Buloh in TM's car and i was pretty looking forward and excited at the walk, especially at the counter cause everything looks so interesting.. However, after walking a long trail, I found that it's super boring and the route is not that fantastic as well. Even the bird viewing tower is down for maintenance... Mosquitoes were everywhere till we decided to give up 1/2way and walk back... Haha...

We then headed to the Admiralty Waterfront. Quite interesting as we can see the JB coast just opposite and we took lots of funny pics there... Stayed there till 11 plus adn then headed to Marsiling for lunch... The roti prata there is super nice, but I forgot what's the name of the vegeterian restaurant liao... Thanks TM for the bf and lunch treat! Next time my turn ok? LOL...

First post for 2011 - I got my license! :)

Happy 2011 to everyone!
I'm so happy my 2011 started off so well, with my first goal achieved successfully! :D

Took my driving test today and was unable to sleep well the past 2 nites. In fact, on Sat nite, no sleep at all as was playing cashless mahjong with Corina and her 2 pri skool frens - Wanqing and En En. Then last nite was really because I felt super gan chiong for my driving test today, so I can't sleep despite being so tired...

My warm up was supposed to start at 1045 this morning but I arrived at BBDC at 1015. Printed my allocation slip and proceeded to the information counter. The gal informed me "Car 153, take a seat in the video room first". I proceeded to the room but there were a few people who were there watching the graduation video, so I took a seat outside there... At that point of time, my nervous system almost broke down! I dunno why, I still feel so so so nervous!

The warm up was supposed to start at 1045 sharp but because we were told out of the 7 of us, only 2 of our test cars were in BBDC so the rest of us had to wait. And I was the last whose test car came back at 11am. By this time, my nervous state went from 40-60! I saw my group G8030 lead, Sim and he talked to me. Initially I thought he will take me for the warm up, but nope, not him. And my warm up.. I sort of screwed it up, made quite a few unthinkable mistakes which I think I shouldn't even make.. Eg: Cannot differentiate number 6 & 7 and cannot do reverse left turn properly for parallel parking... And heng that was only the warmup and the instructor who took me was nice and trying to calm me down... hahaha.... Only after my test I was told by Sim that he was supposed to take me for my warm up, but the other instructor has requested to take me, so he took another gal for warm up. Haha...

While in the circuit, my tester wound down the window and was trying to catch the attention of one tester just besides us, informing him that I'll b late for the test as my warmup was delayed... But as it turned out, I completed everything pretty fast and went back to the centre 5 mins before the test started at 11.45.

My name was last second to be called out for the test and my tester seems pretty nice. A Malay old man. We greeted each other and walked to the car. I'm not sure why, my nervous state went from 80-90 down to about 50 once we are in the car. But that's a good sign. I did everything nice nice and completed the test within 20 mins. No E-brake! Only obstruction was when we were at Bt Batok Ave 3, it's only 1 lane and there's one big lorry parking there... Somemore it's a double white solid line as divider, so not supposed to overtake the lorry.. But in this case, no choice, so no other way out, so I overtook the lorry after looking at the tester... hahaha... Sim and the instructor who took me for the warm up were anxiously waiting for me to exit from the TP room to see how I did... Sim said he saw my car 153 back in centre long ago, but can't find me.. hahaha.. Acually I was the last 2nd out of the 11-12 ppl take test to be called out, but I was the first to get back to BBDC.. >.<

I told him I passed with only 2 points and he super happy for me, almost jumped up! Oops.. I guess all were relieved coz before the test I was super cmi! On the way back to the centre, the tester started chatted with me and at that point, I already knew.. I should have done pretty well... He started by asking me if this is my first driving attempt and if I drove any vehicles before this. Also asked how many practical lessons I went for... Then he asked if I took leave today for the test and which company I working for and as a what.. At that point, I know high chance pass liao. But just din expect myself to get only 2 points. From what I heard, usually tester will have a piece of paper and if u make any mistake, he will "award" you points. Not sure if it's specific to myself or this tester, he din take out any paper to write anything throughout.

When we reached the centre, all he said is "Park behind that black car, turn off engine and go back to test room to wait for me". That's all... I was nervous again at this point of time!!! I was pretty surprised as I was the first one to come back from the test, despite being the 2nd last to go out. He came back to me about 5 mins later with a slip of paper and said "Congrats, you did very well with no major mistakes. Pls proceed to the room to watch your graduation video at 1240pm before going to level 2 to make your license!". I was super happy and the other people who took the test in the same slot as me could hear my tester's comments and looked envious. I heard 1 tester "scolding" a guy.. coz he almost had an accident and din stop early or do checks... Suddenly I felt so heng to have such a nice tester~

Got everything done by 1.30pm and left the centre. Really thanks heaps to the following instructors who taught me well from fixed group G8030:-
Sim KH (Lead of G8030)
Tsang SY (My fixed instructor for the last few lessons I took. Corrected a lot of my silly mistakes and helped me a lot along the way. Also answered a lot of queries I had in mind... LOL.. Thank you Shaoyang)
Ong HH (Taught me a few times in Stage 3)
Seetho (Although he only taught me once, but he's super nice and funny. Makes driving easier)

My result slip... Tsk tsk.. It's nice to see everything so clean and nice. I saw a few who passed but were "awarded" a lot of points, so basically the first 2 pages were filled with many items.

Horray, I'm now certified to drive! LOL.. Cannot keep my happiness to myself!!!

Looking back - Driving

I never thought I will really go learn driving one day, and I really did! And tonight was my last revision lesson before my test on coming Monday, 3rd Jan.

Looking back, from the day I went to BBDC with Apple to register etc, cannot imagine I've really come this far... I remember clearly we went on 15 Jun and I was persistent in taking school instead of private. I've also made up my mind to take auto, but Apple persuaded me to go for manual and I DID sign up for manual... But luckily, the very next day, i regretted and went back to BBDC and paid $10 more to switch over to auto. hahaha....

Subsequently, I went for the theory tests and lessons (Yes, I mentioned tests first coz silly me completed all my tests, before I realised that I need to attend the lessons)! >.< Along the way, I was wondering how come I never get any instructor from my fixed group G8030, though from day one, I asked for fixed group... Kinda frustrating... Luckily, things started to change from Stage 3 onwards... All instructors who coached me were from my fixed group. :) Except for one instructor whom I'm super afraid of, the rest are generally very nice and friendly. It was only till beginning of my Stage 4 lessons that I fixed one specific instructor. And I had a mindset that all my instructors in my group were all uncles and aunties, till I met Tsang SY who was the youngest in the group! Boo-hoo... hahaha...

Ironically, the usually quiet me while driving, had a lot to talk about that session and Tsang was telling me of a weird old man he met in the lift at his block, so after that we had lots to chat about. And because of certain points he brought up to me which I find is very true, I decided to fix him for my subsequent lessons, except for the last one tonight as he's not working on the night shift...

Sim (the lead of fixed group G8030) took me. I think this is the 4th or 5th time he's taken me and he's generally a very nice instructor too. Very courteous and friendly. Actually, he took me once in Stage 1 and I find him impressive, but too bad he's the lead and we can't fix the lead as our instructor, else I'd have fixed him from Stage 1. Tonight, I was asking him if he thinks I can pass, and he said "Sure can lar, have more confidence, you are doing great!". I was like... err... hopefully I can do this well in my test also lor... But what he said did boast my confidence up. :) Thanks Sir!

He was also telling me, today there were 7 trainees from our fixed group who took the test and he expected 2 of them to fail, but in the end, all passed with flying colors! Wow, I'm amazed! He's also super nice, proposing to the school for increment and some badge thing for his team if the passing rate is more than 80% or something like this... I wish I can be like the 7 trainees who passed and get their license today! Can I? :P

Anyway, was blabbering to Tsang and another instructor, HH Ong, if I really passed on 3rd Jan, I'll cook some food for them. The food in the BBDC canteen, really CMI! :P We'll see if this wish comes true. :) Of coz I'll include Sim and Seetho in the treat if I passed! Hee...

I'm officially 100% in the new department as of today.
Actually last Thurs, I already received an email from the Global Support Mgr in Irvine informing that I can fully transition over to the new dept and thanked me for helping out the last 60 days at the desk, training the new lead, but as I was on vacation on Fri, things did not get moving till today. :)

Feels a bit weird and lonely at my new desk... But gotta get used to it. Praying that I can do well in my new role and scope, first ever in Asia Pac. :P

Remember my post yesterday about asking my left hand to play scissors paper stone with my right hand? My left hand won, so I went ultimately! :P

Not too bad.. though I predicted the causeway will be jammed up like hell coz of the long holidays and it's a Sat evening, with factory ladies going back to JB... I shopped around City Square for an hour plus while waiting for 6 aunt to pick me up to Cousin Queenie's place... I seriously have no idea now to go. Even if I were to take the public transport, I only know how to go granny's place.. But not logical for me to travel to Skudai and then come down to Pelangi again... So shopping lor.. Though I dun really like shopping, but there's a little corner in City Square that I alwiz like. :)

Reached there and din eat much as I had a heavy lunch with my parents at home... Saw the little nephews and practically went yaya with them and played so much.. Had a hard time chasing after 2 little devils... LOL... Aoyi has juz started walking steadily not long, so he keeps falling down.. After he falls down, he will laugh out loud.. Pengz.. Got a feeling he purposely do that one lor...

Went back to Granny's place and met up with my other niece Sally.. She's super duper cute and I even fed her milk and water and carried her for quite a while. I absolutely adore infants!!!

Spent the night at Granny's place and little cousins Yilin and Huaiyi (6th aunt's kids who are very close to me), wanna come to Singapore with me, but were disallowed. They threw tantrums till after 12mn and I'm so tired... And oh, Yilin got 2nd place in her class for the final exams... So proud of her... My student whom I'm tutoring also got 3rd place in her class! Sense of satisfaction...

Woke up today AM super early, before 7am.. Can't sleep well as it's too cold. My sis turned on the aircon and I was directly under it.. :( Granny woke up early too and we chatted on a lot of things. It's really a blessing to have a granny to chat with.. If only she's closer to me.. Not across the causway.. so inconvenient to visit. :( She's my only grandparent out of 4 who's still with us! Must treasure! Simply love the simple fried bee hoon she alwiz cooks lovingly for us.. Was sharing with my mum how amazing my Granny is.. she has almost 30 grandkids... but never fails to remember what food each of us like. Today she purposely cooked all the food me and sis liked for lunch! Awwww....

Should I? Should I not?
I juz came back from my driving lessons at BBDC... And now, I'm in a dilemma if I wanna go to JB. One of my cousins' daughter is having full month celebration. Why dilemma?
It just rained and the weather looks threatening... Will it rain? Will there be jam at the causeway?
But on the other hand... I really feel like going in to meet the 2 newest addition to my extended family... Both my female cousins gave birthday in Oct/Nov and I've yet to meet the 2 little sweeties! I WANNA SEE THEM!!! Headache...

My left hand is playing scissors paper stone with my right hand... If left wins, I'll go, If right wins, I'll drop the idea and go swimming with Apple dear! :P

Ok, fine... After last week meetup with Apple, I met with Shihua dear yesterday... It was actually a planned outing we had since early Nov. The previous time when we met, we already set the date to meet... Power... :D

We had dinner at V8 Cafe in Bugis and it was another nice chat. As usual, we will be wondering how we became the closest of friends, especially since we dun have anything much in common. Heee... I guess this is fate. :)

I made her a jigsaw puzzle as well. (No bias, 1 for Apple, 1 for Shihua.. Both of my best frens got 1 each)... But unfortunately, silly me forgot to bring it along.. So the puzzle is still with me. :( And to think that my Shihua got me a cute gift instead...

Hee... I juz wished her harpie birthday 2 days ago.. and on the same day, smsed her to check if she's interested to go for hair treatment with me yesterday... My scalp is really in a pretty bad shape, so I need the treatment badly. :(

It was not a pleasant encounter in the beginning... What happened was, I met up w Apple at 5pm after her work in the evening, wanting to go to the salon which we normally go to for the treatment, since I still have outstanding package. Unknowingly, the in charge who usually do our hair for us and even the few aunties who helped previously is no longer at that branch. Instead, met a super duper disturbing gal and unfriendly staff there! Normally when I flashed my receipt, the gals would know wat to do... Wash hair, cut, treatment, wash and blow dry... Not that difficult right?

I've been faithfully going to this particular shop coz all along I think they are very nice and professional. They do intro pdts etc, but no hard selling... This particular encounter pissed me off so much, I requested not to waste everyone's time and juz let me go to the newly opened branch at Gombak MRT... If I had known the original owner and her staff were all at Gombak, I wouldn't even make the trip down to Lakeside.. Waste time and piss me and Apple off only... People who know me knows I seldom flare up this way.. usually very meek and quiet and dun complain... But this is RIDICULOUS!

But anyway, after 1/2 hr big hoo haa and my persistent insistent, we were let off so we can proceed to Gombak for the hair treatment. Once in Gombak, things swing very fast into place and we got wat we wanted, without much waiting or questions. I even made a "feedback" to the owner on her staff in Lakeside and they gave us the better treatment for our hair instead of the one we signed up for in the package... So anyway, if I were to ramble on, the story will never end. It's not pleasant.. so juz throw it at the back of my head...

Now, part 2 of the story... After the treatment, we had wanted to go to Marsiling to meet Lynn mei mei for dinner, but because she's busy and we checked with her too late, so we went to Hua Jin vege restaurant instead. The food was not bad and we even saw a few religious class uncles and aunties there... Tsk tsk... After dinner, we walked all the way from Gombak to Apple's place in JE... I was the one who encouraged her, even though she was carrying the big bulky jigsaw puzzle I made for her bday cum xmas gift.. LOL...

It was really a nice walk and chat. We were chatting about our driving lessons (I'm taking auto lessons from BBDC, while she's on manual w a private instructor). I'm so glad I decided to take auto and spend a bit more to learn in skool... as Apple did not have a nice experience with her instructor... We also chatted about her upcoming wedding next year and I'm so super excited.. I think even more excited than her... also helped her to look through some places she's chosen for the wedding dinner and her guest list... LOL... Felt so impt suddenly! :D

It took us less than 60 mins to reach her place and we had almost wanted to walk from her place to TM's place in CCK, but in the end, din as she had 2 big bags of stuffs to carry over to his place... So in the end we took a cab... Thanks dear for the ride!

Driving updates

It's been almost 3 months since I last started my practical lessons in BBDC on end Aug. I remember clearly that my first practical lesson was 2 days after my birthday... LOL...

I just started stage 3 early this week and today's my second lesson in stage 3. Basically stage 3 is all circuit based, familiarization of the circuit and signs, as well as the different circuits within. It was a pretty big challenge for me when I went for the first lesson in Stage 3. I found that I had directional issues when trying to reverse and alwiz go the wrong way, even after thinking for long... Why? Sigh...

I went for my second lesson this morning and did S and crank courses, and I think I did pretty well... Only mounted kerb 2 times during S course and crank was ok, following the instructions from my instructor. Then becoz I did fast in these, I had sometime to learn directional change. Again, I had issues as it need reversing skills... LOL... Sigh... And guess what? today's instructor was the same I had on Stage 3.01... So she was laughing at me all the way......

Went downtown after the lesson to buy some stuffs and saw sales in Bras Basah.... My itchy hands cannot stop buying books, so I bought quite a lot of them.. all at the price of $1 per piece. I think my parent's gonna kill me.. no more space for me books! :P

Long lomantic walk with Shihua tonite~

After a few months, finally got a chance to meet up with this darling of mine! Hee...
Had wanted to give her a treat but becoz she's so full, she din eat anything... She just sat opposite me and watched me eat! I had a filling seafood platter in Billy Bombers in Marina and I suggested a walk since I was feeling super cold.

We walked all the way from Marine to Esplanade, to the Singapore Flyer, back to Esplanade, and then all the way to Singapore River, before taking a bus home from Clark Quay. It was a nice 1.5 hours of walk and we chatted so much. Once again, we were wondering how did we become the best of friends when we have so many things NOT in common. LOL.... I dunno when the chemistry started from, but it's been for really long. Almost 10 years?

We also took quite a fair bit of pictures as my darling likes to take photos, however I've yet to get any of them from her yet.. hee... Waiting to get them. :D

And oh, I just got my company phone yesterday. It's a Blackberry Bold and I've no clue on how to use it... Duhz.... Thanks to my wonderful helpdesk gals for helping me out and giving me training... hee....

Really down with flu~

I took the flu jab in office more than 2 weeks back (just before the CS conference) and din expect myself to fall so ill. I've heard of people who took the same jab and felt ill the next day or few days, but not as bad as me. It took 2 weeks plus for the viral effect to set in and I've got fever, cough, flu and aches.

Went to see a doc last nite for the second time and was advised to stay home. Actually for the first 3 months of employment, I'm not entitled any MCs or leaves, but my manager was really kind to give me the day off. :)

Had a really really good rest today and I think I'm feeling much better now! Back to warzone in the helpdesk tomorrow! Gambatte! :D

It felt so strange, how I used to go back to office most times during public holidays previously. I can earn OT pay (double pay) and slack in office with the aircon and my team members.

And today, I'm sitting here at home, doing nothing and slacking... I found back my holidays... Heee...

After the tiring and fruitful week last week, finally, my life's back to normal! Hee.....
My mgr asked to meet me in his room today and told me I did a very good job in the presentation last week and everyone was impressed, including the Irvine mgr. Her impression of me changed quite a lot when I had a short chat with her on Thursday during the team building. :) Phew~

And I'm so so so happy today! Finally get to see U again after almost 10 days! Was so super worried for u last week when I knew u fell so ill. :(

Yeah... Finally, the busy busy exciting week is over!
Gosh... Can't imagine how I survived the past week, just like that! :D

Basically we had the first ever APAC CS Management conference in the Singapore office! And I was excited to be part of the team and event, though I'm so very the new to the team... LOL... It was a nice and great chance to see the site leads from the APAC region and learnt a lot from one another... Ok, let me go through some events in details....

Day 1 - 25 Oct
The first day of the conference. Pretty nervous and excited to meet the team. Finally did so at 9am when the conference officially started. Was not as scary as I thought it to be. :) We also had guests and manager speakers from Irvine, US and it was a great chance meeting everyone and introducing ourselves. I was pretty nervous as I knew the US snr mgr had not wanted to hire me for this post, but I was hired for it ultimately.
After work, I asked and seems like Laura from Sydney & Jisoo from Korea were interested to visit the Night Safari, so I went along to their hotel in the minibus and waited for them to freshen up. Nice chat with Jisoo in her room and she's super frenly! Walked to Far East Plaza for dinner and ordered local food for them, which they find delicious. Dinner was done and there were lots of laughters, before we took a cab to Night Safari. Embarrassed to say, but it's my first time there too.. Super dark and practically can't see anything much. The tram ride brought us around most times as most areas were "out of bounds" to walking tourists and visitors. Wrapped up the night at about 10 plus and we took a cab back.

Day 2 - 26 Oct
I think practically everyone's really tired, so we din have any event after work today. Good chance for me to slip home to catch up on my beauty sleep... Hee

Day 3 - 27 Oct
This is a very exciting day for me! Yes, me... Becoz I'm doing a presentation cum training for the IT applications we use in Broadcom a lot. Though I'm super familiar with it and have no issues, but becoz the Irvine Snr Mgr was in there too, I was extremely nervous, plus.. I've a fear of giving presentations and speaking out loud to more than 10 ppl...
The session was scheduled for an hour, but we overran by more than an hour coz of the number of questions I had from the team and assisting them to setup the application on their laptops. Phew, the big rock in my heart is now thrown into the deep deep sea, and finally a good nite sleep after so many days.
We also had team dinner at No Signage Seafood in Vivocity. 2 tables and 16 people in total. Hee hee... The food is not that fantastic, still prefers Jumbo. :P But it was a great nite for almost everyone else, drinking and making fun etc. I stayed clear of alcoholic drinks and sticked to my chinese tea... hee... Will upload pics when I have the chance to copy back the photos... :D
Took more team photos at the scenic views in Vivo and some were super funnie~. Ended the nite at almost 11 and thanks to Rick for sending me and Kim home~ The taxi queue in Vivo, is super scary, even on a weekday nite...

Day 4 - 28 Oct
Official last day of the conference. Had long meetings in the mornings and lots of things for me to note, since I'm so new to the dept. But we managed to wrap everything up as scheduled at 2pm and packed up. Then we're off to team building~ Hee... Go where team building and do wat? We went back to Vivo again! Becoz the team was really amazed by Vivo and the cable car ride and Sentosa etc...
First, we went to Marina Bay Sands for the sky bridge. Super nice... Took quite a bit of photos here as well. Strolled around the place and enjoyed the scenic views, before we head off to Vivo. From Vivo, we took the cable car to Sentosa (complimentary from Canon). Not as exciting as I thought it to be... Yes, it's also my first cable car ride ever! Reached a 5 star hotel in Sentosa (din note the name) for the Canon event and we were all given the red red Canon Jap style "jacket" to wear. The dim sum is super nice and we ate lots of them... LOL... Thanks to my mgr for being so thick skinned and kept asking for more... haha... Left the place by bus at about 7.45pm. Super tired by then.
Went back to Vivo and the rest took sometime to do some last min shopping. Iris and myself headed to a souvenir store and bought some little gifts for everyone, since most of them brought so food and souvenirs from their countries for us! It was a pretty warm scene when we said our goodbyes. The ladies hugged one another and the guys shook hands. Of coz the ladies shook hands with the guys.. LOL... Again, called for a cab back home... super tired and reached almost 11pm again~

18 Oct, the day when I first started working in Broadcom 5 years ago!

Suddenly, I realised that today is my 5 year anniversary working in Broadcom!
Looking back, it seems like a lot had happened in my life the past 4-5 years... Dramas, learning experiences... A lot of first time working in Broadcom as a team lead also...
And now, 5 years later, I'm moving on, from a contractor to a Broadcom perm employee... Cannot image how much things have changed, but yet I'm surviving...

Special thanks to a special someone who made all these possible for me. Without u, I dun think I'll be here today! :D

Attended a wedding lunch this afternoon. One of my sec skool frens got married today. We din really keep in contact after sec skool days, but since he invited, me and best fren Corina turned up. Other than a few whom I predicted to be present, there were a number whom I've lost contact since grad in sec skool and I can't even remember 1 of them. No impression at all. Pardon me Paul for that. :P

My new role

Officially I've started on my new role as a Project Manager yesterday at work.
However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, I will still need to be present at the desk to lead the team, till they hire a new lead and get the person trained up.

So, right now I'm doing both jobs... Luckily my new manager is pretty understanding and not demanding, so other than a bit of updating here n there, I'm not doing anything much in the new role as yet. And the transition might take up to 90 days....

I'm back from my Bandung trip.. It's tiring but fun @ the same time.. First time going overseas with my parents (other than to JB to visit Granny). I think should bring them overseas more often to enjoy themselves! They're getting old!

So excited and fun to catch up with Merlin. She's still so pretty and cheerful, no change.. Still good figure after 2 kids... LOL... We really had a great time over the 3 days we were in Bundung. Thanks Melon dear for the treat and time taken to bring us around Bandung. We really appreciate it (including my parents)! They were saying you and your hubby and your in-laws are so kind and nice! :) I love Jordan and Natasha too, though we din get to spend much time with them! :D

I've been blabbering about an opportunity in an earlier post.
It's been confirmed today that I will be accepting the new role in the same company and my start date will be on 4 Oct.

Though the pay is not as expected, but there are other compensations that come in place, so I'm trying it out. Other than a higher pay, the title sounds nice too. It was originally named "Training Co-ordinator", but got changed to "Project Manager" instead. :)

Basically what I'd be doing is a totally new role in Asia Pac in the company so though the JD and scope is defined, not very sure on what I'm getting into. I'm feeling anxious, nervous, excited and nerve-wrecking at the same time. Contradicting, isn't it? It'd also mean that I no longer can "switch off" after office hours as I will have a Blackberry and laptop, so I can work remotely after hours, if needed.

I'd be training the Corporate Services dept on the usage of IT softwares and systems as well as planning project scheduling. The scope seems pretty big in the JD and travelling will be required. So let's see how it goes. :) Good luck to myself! :P

And oh, there were some drama and hoo-ha that went on for the past month. When my current manager knows that I might be moving on, she and her bosses created a perm post for me called "IT Supervisor" and asked if I'd like to take it up. It's a really challenging job and I declined it. After my decline, the post got "removed" and this post now no longer exists... :P Not sure what might happen in future and I'm looking forward to it with an open mind~

I'm so tired.. Yesterday was Hari Raya, and I was working in the office too.
Worked till 6pm and came home for dinner and had a short rest before heading down to Lakeside to join Apple and the religious group for some vegeterian BBQ Session there. Also saw Lijun once again and it was really funnie how we can chat about everything and laughed all the way through. I think we really clicked! :) And sorry Ben (Lijun's hubby), then you might have felt a bit neglected when the few of us ladies were joking and chatting ard!

Today, went down to city hall again to meet up with Thao for short while. She's taking a 1pm plane tomorrow to Vietnam and I won't be free so met up with her today. Tomorrow, will be heading to BBDC for my theory lessons... :P

After the short meetup, took MRT to Lakeside to met up with Sam & his wife. We went to Junwei & Lucy's house warming. A pretty hot day but nice catchup with them all and I got home before 8pm! :D

Colleague from US visited

My colleague from US, Thao visited me in Singapore. Saw her for the first time yesterday morning when we met up in Chinatown, together with another fren of hers, Kim who came from Vietnam and can't speak English. It's pretty amazing, how we've never met before but know each other so well as we practically chat a lot on AIM for work related stuffs and also sometime juz simply chat :)

Brought them to Chinatown to walk walk see see and then to Clark Quay. After that we strolled to Funan IT mall, City Hall, Suntec, Esplanade, Merlion and finally had dinner at Lau Pat Sat. Hoho.. I'm not one who go out to shop a lot, so I actually lost my way when walking to Raffles MRT from Lau Pat Sat... We also took quite a lot of pics, but they're all in Thao's camera.. So I won't be able to upload as yet...

And today, we had planned to go to the Southern Ridges, but it was raining since early morning so that had to be cancelled. In the end, we met up at 2pm in Bugis and I brought them around the place again. After some walks, we took bus back to my home, so they can see what a typical Singapore HDB flat looks like. Then we headed to the coffee shop opposite my home for dinner, together with my parents. They also had some insight on what Hungry Ghost Festival and mid-Autumn Festival are like and my dad even brought us all to watch the getai... LOL... It was funny how they requested to take pics with my parents and they gladly obliged.. My dad is not one who take pics.. :P

After watching the getai, took them on a ride on the LRT and they mentioned how amazing that it's driverless and how the windows "opaqued" out when we reach flats... tsk tsk.. Honestly, I dun remember how that happen and can't explain to them too... It was a great weekend with them out, though really tiring. :)

Gym & exercise session

Per Apple's suggestion, we went to the gym this morning to exercise. There were supposed to be about 10 of us ladies... but in the end, a lot couldn't make it, but we still went ahead. It's been so long since I last saw Apple's sec skool fren Lijun and we had a great time catching up, since we were the earliest. Other than the 3 of us, there were also Lvying and her fren and Zichun n her fren.. Sorry ladies, cannot recall your names! Thanks Chun for the delicious and healthy sandwiches you made for us!

We did some workout in the gym and I showed Apple & Lijun what kind of exercises I did in Contour Express previously and I think it's pretty difficult for them, like how I felt when I first learnt those... LOL... After that, had wanted to do for hair treatment with Apple, however, I did bring along the receipt, so had to come home and pick it up before meeting Apple at West Mall again. And to our dismay, the shop has shifted location. I called and found that it's re-located to Lake side MRT so we took the train there... It's super crowded but a nice feeling to get the hair treated as I had some spilt ends and my scalp's really oily!

My first practical lesson

Silly me! All along I tot that I have to pass my advance theory before I can book for practical lessons at BBDC. It's more logical isn't it? Since ATT will tell u how the car works etc, before you go for practical lessons. But actually it's NOT the case. As long as I passed the basic theory test, I can apply for the PDL (Which I really did right after I secured my BTT) and I left it there for almost a month without realising I can go for practical lessons.

So after speaking to ZQ before the K-session on Sunday evening, I went to BBDC to top with my $$ before booking for my practical lessons. I'm having mixed feelings actually.. coz all along I've no guts to go learn driving. I had my first practical lesson tonight and it was not as bad as I thought it will be. I think I made the right choice by going to BBDC instead of private.. coz I realised how the circuit really helps! Never tot I will be in the driver's seat controlling the car...

Naturally will be nervous and stiff on the first lesson and din have much chance to really drive a lot. Next lesson will be coming Sun afternoon, hope I can do better then! Gambatte!

Thanks to my Shihua dear, I visited USS for the first time ever today! Though we din take the rides but we went to the nite USS to see see look look and had dinner there.

It was really a nice catchup with her as it's been almost 3 months since we last met. Hee.. Thanks dear for the treat, presents and most importantly, your company! Hee... I was telling her abt the opportunity I had and she encouraged me as well... Oh well, we'll see how it goes. Seems like now, more than 1 boss wanna speak to me, though I'm not sure what the whole thing is about.. and if it's to my advantage... I know I'm not good in speaking and asking for stuffs, so let's see how it goes... :P

I'm still in a deep state of consideration of whether I should take up the new offer.
Some colleagues and close frens who know are encouraging me to take the step forward... But still, I cannot say what's exactly holding me back.. And the best part is, I have to give answer by tmr... haha... *faint*

Anyway, I took sometime today to visit granny in JB. Been really a long time since I last visited her, from CNY... Hee... I used to go very often, but after they changed the customs and the security in JB is not that good, I haven't been visiting as often as I should.

It's really nice to see granny, though her health is not good and failing her, pain here n there.. at least she's still mobile and doing good. :) Had a good chat with her and my aunties as well... I also saw my cute little cousins and nephews... Kawaii nehz!!! 2 more nieces joining the big family in Nov, so excited to meet them... Tsk tsk... Hitched a ride from 6th to come back home as she's coming to SG to collect some insurance premium from her customers... :D

I took 1/2 day leave this afternoon.
Took my parents to National Skin Centre as my mum's hands have been very bad - dry skin with lots of blisters. She's gone to many docs but the problem keeps coming back. So I told her to go polyclinic to get referral letter so I can bring her to NSC to check it out.

Today we went and luckily it's nothing serious, but more of old skin issue and irritants. Advised to keep dry as much as possible and to apply the medication. After NSC, we took a bus to Bugis to pray and walk a bit before coming home...

Waited for my sis to knock off work and then we went to plaza for dinner and some grocery shopping. Hope my mum enjoys her day today! :)

I'm back from Beijing, China. :)
A very nice and fun trip though it's for work purposes!

First, I was supposed to board SQ805 departing at 4pm yesterday from Beijing back to SG, however due to some unforeseen circumstances (and I din know about it till I read the papers today), the flight was delayed for almost 3 hours... Yes, 3 hours... At about 6.50pm then the flight took off from the Beijing airport. Supposed to arrive in SG before 10pm last nite, but I reached at 12.10am 1 Aug.. So I was in China from Jul to Aug.. Haha... Ok, cold joke. :P

After office hours during weekdays as well as whole of Friday, I was out touring the place and went to some places of interest. Indeed, comparing Beijing and Shanghai, Beijing has more places for me to go to and see see look look. I even went up the Badaling Great Wall on Friday and though it's so foggy, I can't see anything, but it was a very nice experience. At least I've stepped foot on it.. Like what my mum said, a Chinese must go there at least one.. The steps and slopes on the wall are much difficult and steep to conquer. Not as simple as I tot they were. :\ What's impressive is that you can see so many gray haired grandmothers and grandfathers climbing the stairs.. And because it happens to be the summer holiday in China from Jul-Aug, every place of interest is so crowded with people... Phew...

One thing, the weather is really really hot. Just on Friday when I was out in the "sun" whole day, my skin turned so dark on my face, neck n limbs. Almost 40 deg C and I'm not joking. You practically can't see the sun, but it's so humid, just standing there doing nothing for 3 mins, you'll sweat like hell. I think the sweat for Fri itself, surpass the amount of sweat in my whole life. :P Whole shirt was wet... and still sweating non stop. And the air in Beijing in really polluted. :(

I passed basic theory!

Hee, yes... A bit unexpected, I passed my basic theory on my first attempt today.
Well, all along I was never confident in any tests or exams, especially MCQs.. I dunno why, never seem to get high marks in the first place, But I did today! :)

However, things were not that smooth. Those who have taken basic theory for driving will know when you enter the room with your identity card, the examiner will point you to your allocated seat. It so happened that I was allocated a seat along the row, just next to the door. 10 mins into the test, I was already more than 1/2 way done... 27 out of 50 questions done, when suddenly the system went haywire... Every one of us in that row, 6 in fact.. All the systems started hanging... And yes, when I meant hang, it means the system is not responding at all.

The examiners were asked to check and they too have no idea what's going on. From 2 examiners to 4, all of them had no idea. And becoz it was a Sat, I think they had a hard time reaching NCS for advice. When they finally got to them, request of reboots of the row of machines were called upon. However, after the reboot, there was no luck... ended sitting there for more than 30 mins juz to get the systems working again. :\

Luckily, the systems were able to resume to the last questions we attempted and we can continue from there. No need to start right from beginning again. I took less than 15 mins after that to complete and got 93%, hahaha... And I got my PDL already. Final theory has been booked for end Sept. :\ Hopefully it's not as screwy as today...

I think the gastric flu visited me again last nite...
Was feeling ok for 2 hours after dinner but after 2 hours, my tummy started churning and "drumming" inside and I puked badly again. Luckily Mum was around that time... But I felt so sick after that... Took some medication and went to bed really early.

Luckily, I feel better and ok today. Had to go NTUC to prepare some stuffs for an overseas trip this month end...

Hopefully, the vomiting and LS dun "visit" me again. :(

What a yucky day yesterday! :(
I went for lunch and right after lunch, when riding the escalator, my stomach felt really sick and I puked so damn much at the base of the escalator. I think those near me were so shocked... Really dun mean to create the mess but I din have time to run to the other end of CWP for toilets to puke in.

After vomiting, I still felt really sick and giddy for a few mins. Was searching my pouch for some tissues but cannot find.. Luckily, a kind lady who walked by passed me some tissues, really life-saving for that moment... And my colleague who went to lunch with me was someplace else buying something... Felt so lost and giddy then. Glad that I did not pass out. :P

I felt so much better after vomiting and when the giddiness subside, I called my colleague to inform we'll be meeting later as I need to go toilet to clear up the mess on my legs. Took me almost 2 hours for lunch today, sigh... Went to the doc after I got back to office. Was really glad for the first time, we have bathrooms in the building and I can washed my legs and shoes... Else gotta stick with the smell and stickiness till I reach home...

Doc confirmed it, I had GASTRIC FLU! Gosh... So sucky...
Felt so much better today... It was really bad yesterday, though I only puke 2 times, but the diarrhea was really bad, especially after taking some porridge for dinner... And fever came along too... Am so glad I feel much better today. :)

P.S: Thanks Lynn mei for sms-ing me! Hee, a bit unexpected. :) Felt so much better already! Muacks...

And oh, I failed my BTE by 2 questions... so gotta retake it next week again. Pray for me that I'd pass!

Congrats to Bobby and Shena who got engaged today in Fo Guang Shan @ Punggol.
I knew Bobby back since secondary 1 from my CCA - Military Band and it was a coincidence we were in the same CCA in Ngee Ann Poly once again. :)

It was actually really a coincidence for me to join Buddhist Society back then, thanks to my sec skool best fren Corina. Else, I think I'd have joined something else coz all along I felt I'm not a religious person. :P And so, Bobby was once again my senior in NPBS. :) He's 6 years older than me, so I really din expect us to be pretty close.. LOL...

But anyway, it was really nice and sweet to see him and Shena getting ROMed today! Nice chance to meetup with my other seniors from NPBS (some whom I contact often) as well as my long lost frens from AESMB (Military Band). I remembered I attended Ruoyin's wedding few years back and now she has a really pretty and lovely baby girl! :)

Now then I realised, it's just a PRACTICE, as the term states.
There were a total of 4 papers with 70 questions each... Not too bad, at least it gives me an idea of what kind of questions are expected. And I failed 3 of them and passed 1, with a very short marginal... :(

Next Monday, I'd be going for the BTE (Basic Theory Evaluation), can I pass? Haha... 90 marks leh...

Last day of gym

I went for my last session of gym at Contour's Express in Teck Whye this afternoon.
So fast, 1 year has already past and though I din really feel a lot of weight loss, but I do feel healthier and my muscles building up, esp on the arms and legs! I decided not to continue with the membership due to 2 main reasons - not a very convenient place to go and also since I'm going to start driving soon, I might not be able to go 3 days a week for gym...

I'm actually feeling really really tired today and almost couldn't make it for the gym. The reason is because I got a bit emotional yesterday after someone told me something that touched me deeply somehow. Though it was really nothing much, but it meant a lot to me. :)

Plus, after work yesterday, I went to gym and then met up with Maeve for dinner and KBox at Clementi. We K all the way from 8pm to 2am and I was half dead by then. We were told that we can have the room to 12mn, but I guess not many people went to K last night so we can have the room till 3am when it closes. We were so tired, we left before 2am. Really getting old. Just 2-3 years back I can K with Apple they all on a weekly basis on every Sunday from 7pm to 3am and still go to work on Monday morning without issues. Now, I can't... I slept till 10am this morning and still feel so tired.

However, it was really nice to be able to catchup with Maeve again and we have some ideas for Charlina before she migrates to Abu Dhabi with her hubby... :) And oh, after some find, finally got my mum an ideal backpack which she's been looking for. The old one she had, I got it for her from Taiwan years ago and it's dismantling. Glad that she likes the one I got for her last nite b4 meeting Maeve.

It's now 11.12pm and I need my bed badly!!!

My boss visited us from US this week... Yes, this week from 21 Jun to 24 Jun..
I have had several meetings with her and she was saying she finally get to meet us. We never had a chance to meet and only speak through conferences.

It wasn't that bad as I thought and I'm amazed at how 1 email from her can get the ticket counts down to so low. From the usual 150-200 tickets, it got reduced to less than 40. Wow! I guess the US lead got really stressed by her email. :P Actually sometimes I do pity the US lead as I know it's not easy to manage a big team of helpdesk agents... It's a small team for me here in Singapore so there weren't much issues and nothing much my boss can pick me on, regarding the team.

Pretty nice that the past 4 days was much better than I imagined it to be and horray, I've regained my freedom, once again! :)

Busy weekend

It's Sunday and finally I've the time over the weekend to sit down here and blog!
I din expect myself to be so busy this weekend.... But somehow, I was!
3rd uncle and his wife came to our house from KL on yesterday morning and I had to bring them to CPF at Civic Centre to withdraw their Singapore CPF. It was very fast and efficient and the whole process was only less than 10 mins for both of them.

My uncle was commenting it was so different when he had to bring my mum around to so many places in KL and JB for her EPF (equivalent to CPF in SG). They had to pay so many fines and referred from one dept to another and till now she has not gotten the $$$ yet... Was telling her to forget it, since the amt is not a lot...

Shortly after I brought them around to CWP for some food and shopping. It was nice catching up with 3rd uncle as he's a very comical and funny man... haha... I then came home while they went to visit a friend in BT Timah... And they were back shortly at 2 plus as my mum reached home around that time after work. Then we brought them to plaza for more shopping and treated them to various food which they cannot find in KL. My uncle likes the hokkien mee and satay bee hoon here, so I brought those for them. I also went to NTUC to buy some ingredients for fruit jellys to make for my granny as she loves them.

After that and some coffee in the food court, we came back home and I made the jellys and let them cool down so uncle can bring them back to granny and some back to KL for his kids. Then we went for dinner at the market opposite my house.. By the time we're done with dinner and everything, it was already 9 plus. Can't believe 1 day is past, just like that...

Guess what?
After speaking with different parties over the last 2 days, I've decided to change from manual to auto again for the driving.
I seriously doubt I can pass manual one.. after speaking with people I know who are experienced in driving, or had passed driving recently...

So I went down to BBDC today again to change the course and I had to pay a penalty of $10.70 for the change of course... But at least I feel better that way and had more confidence...

And for the first time in 26 years, Orchard Road was flooded! Can't believe that.... Gosh... I was on the BKE/PIE this morning and was wondering why the jam was so bad... It was only when the bus went up to Steven Road then I saw the flood and it was especially bad along Newton area... The whole canal was flooded and I saw taxis and cars 3/4 submerged in the floods... Gosh... The bus even had to miss a few bus stops and drive up the flyover coz of the flood... Is this Singapore? :P

Finally, after much thoughts and encouragement from quite a number of people, I went to BBDC today to sign up for driving lessons.
All along, I did not have the courage to drive and keep thinking I sure fail and jalat if I go learn driving.
But after much persuasion, I went today... In fact, a few weeks back I went to Popular to buy the basic n advance theory books to read up, but was never ready to go down to book for my tests and understand how the whole thing works...

Finally today after work and my gym session, Apple dear accompanied me there... I decided to take up auto (class 3) but Apple says it's better to go manual, and so I signed up for manual courses in the school. Though the school charges are higher than private instructors, I think it's still better to go for school for someone with so low confidence in driving. As compared, school candidates can book for circuit much more easier than private ones... And I think I really need that! Right after I signed up and paid the registration fees, there was a briefing session to tell you the overview of the course and it's pretty informative. And guess what? They provide basic & advance theory books as well (different from what I got from Popular) and much cheaper. But ok lar, got more better, at least can cover more.

Because the whole process took much longer than registering as a private for the theory, Apple had to miss dinner becoz of me. So sorry my dear! Din expect that... LOL... At least now, everything's fixed and I need more courage!!!

Yes, I took half day leave today..
Thanks to Carine the birthday gal who gave up her leave for me.. She had wanted to apply full day today n tomorrow but becos of me, she only takes tomorrow off!
Thanks gal and happy 60th birthday to you... haha..

The afternoon was spent nicely and well. I enjoyed it thoroughly and hopefully you did too! :)

This week has been pretty peaceful except for the normal busy work in office, as usual.
My US boss will be visiting us end of the month.. So we'll see how it goes... :P
Sort of pressurized and nervous as we dun know her well...

Well, today I was on leave to settle a few things mainly.
I do my yearly health checkup at my GP and this year, something "weird" was detected in me... It took me quite a while to go visit the specialist and now, everything's confirm to be normal and fine... phew... Thank God for that and everyone's concern! :)

After the checkup, I went to Novena for lunch and the feeling is not that nice.. Lunch time and the whole place is so crowded, even hard to find a seat... With lots of thoughts running thru my mind, I can't enjoy my lunch...

After lunch, I took the train down to Lavender ICA to collect my new passport. It's really past, less than 5 mins of waiting, I got my new passport and this is thanks to the Internet appointment. The whole place was filled with people and I think many had to wait for hours to collect. There was even one woman who confronted the counter person after I collected my passport, asking why I got mine so fast and she's waited for hours but still no news... Gosh... Sigh... Singaporeans~

After that, I took the train again, this time round to AMK. Mainly I was there to buy my shampoo and body shampoo from O2 Skin. There used to be a branch at the plaza near my place, but too bad, it's closed down.. So I gotta go there buy. You might be wondering why need to go there.. well, I've tried a number of shampoos but none seem to be as good as O2, no dandruff, no sensitivity and it really controls my oily scalp problem. Also, the body shampoo seems to "cure" the dryness on my legz... Now I no longer need to apply body moisturizer to keep my legs moisten...

Finally, after all the above, I headed home with lots of stuffs... Dropped the stuff and got changed before leaving for the gym! Tiring... Off to bed soon! :P
